Specialized trauma therapy in Brookline, Boston, and across Massachusetts.
Why We Exist
Beacon Therapy Group was built to offer a different standard of care.
Too often, trauma therapy happens in isolation. Clinicians work in independently, and clients are left searching for support that is both deeply trained and truly understands their lived experience.
As a POC, woman-founded practice, we were created to change that.
Our clinicians work collaboratively, consulting and learning from one another to support more complex cases with depth and care. We prioritize ongoing training in EMDR, IFS, somatic therapy, and other evidence-based approaches so that your treatment continues to evolve with your needs.
That’s the standard we hold ourselves to and the standard our clients deserve.
Beacon Therapy Group is committed to providing a safe, affirming space for individuals from all backgrounds and identities. Our treatment is grounded in the knowledge that oppression is trauma, and we work from a social-justice-focused, intersectional, anti-oppression framework to support clients in healing and reclaiming their power.
We welcome clients of every race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, body, religion, ability, and lived experience — and our diverse clinical team reflects that commitment.
How We Can Help
We work with a range of trauma-related experiences, including:
Repeated harm over time, especially in childhood. We use EMDR, IFS, and somatic therapy to rebuild safety, identity, and worth from the ground up.
Any unwanted sexual experience. A safe, judgment-free space where you stay in control of the pace. You don't have to describe every detail to heal.
Birth trauma, NICU stays, pregnancy loss, fertility challenges, and being dismissed by medical providers. EMDR and somatic therapy help process what the body still carries — because your experience matters, even if "everyone's fine now."
The cumulative weight of racism, discrimination, and cultural erasure. We name what's happening. Oppression is trauma, and we treat it like it.
A car accident, a loss, a medical emergency, an assault. EMDR is often remarkably effective, and EMDR Intensives are available for accelerated progress.
Dissociation is a coping response where the mind uses separation as a survival strategy. Specialized training here is rare; several of our clinicians have specialized training in this area.
Traumatic diagnoses, invasive treatments, and being dismissed by providers. Somatic therapy helps you rebuild a relationship with your body and your healthcare.
Sometimes the symptom isn't the story. We look beyond symptom management to address what's actually driving the pain.
How We Treat Trauma
We take an integrative approach to trauma therapy, guided by what research shows works best.
Our approach includes EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, AEDP, CBT, ACT, and neuropsychological assessment. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs, history, and goals.
We offer multiple ways to receive care:
Sessions are available in person at our Brookline office or via telehealth across Massachusetts.
